In your own time do a self-guided walk and explore Garendon Park. See ancient trees and look out for the follies. Walk leaflets, prepared by the Friends of Garendon Park, are available to download downloaded here from 11th September. Garendon was one of Leicestershire’s grandest Halls. Although the Hall was demolished in 1964, much history abounds. Find out about the former Monastery, the Hall and the people who lived here. There are also guided walks and opportunities to see the impressive family memorials at St Botolph’s church, Shepshed. See separate entries. Entry is off Obelisk Way, by Booth Wood. Walk uses field paths. There are no facilities on the walk. There is on-street parking (and a Kinch No 5 bus stop nearby). Please park considerably.
