Uncover the Story of the Original Melton Mowbray Pork Pie

Two exciting new options for your group combining the famous pork pies and the magnificent St Mary’s Church. St Mary’s Parish Church was built in the 12th Century with intent to become a cathedral. This magnificent Grade 1 listed building is one of the largest and most spectacular churches in the UK. Recent restoration has created a venue perfect for hosting group visits. The Church, just 3 minutes-walk from Wilton Road coach park, can safely accommodate in one sitting groups of up to 45 people.

Option 1 - Pork Pies, Stilton Cheese and Melton Mowbray (available immediately)

Take a little time to explore the church and then settle down to watch a specially commissioned video showing the art and craft of ‘hand raising’ a Melton Mowbray Pork Pie with a commentary that explains the rich heritage associated with Melton Mowbray and the fascinating story of how Stilton Cheese, Pork Pies and Hunting have made the town so famous. Afterwards, a gentle wander of 3 minutes or so takes you to Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe where you can enjoy complimentary sampling.
